I Am From

I am from hope and strength

Derived from a quiet place full of land and trees

Where nobody ever dares to leave.

I am from a home where animals surrounded me as I grew 

Yet no matter how tall I was to sprout

My love for them never died out.

I am from hearing you have an extroadinary heart

And no one can ever replace you, you are a piece of art.

I am from family cherishing me and loving me and praising every choice I wished to make

And as some lives began to perish, a part of my childhood left with all God had to take.

I am from the smell of christmas cookies and old heritage recipes that began to fade and stray

As my years grew older and life gave me more than I can even begin to say.

I am from things like laughter, baseball, blessings, apple picking, and summer trips that will never die out

As we always hear the words "as long as I have all three of you together, my heart will never be in doubt."

I am from hard work and opportunities to help me strive

As my parents have done everything they can to keep fulfilling and successful lives.

I am from different and unique.

I am from not fitting in to finding my place in the world.

I am from learning my purpose and loving everything with all my heart and soul.

I am from suffering and heartache, wisdom and grace

And no matter where I go, I will never lose faith. 

I am from as long as you do everything with passion and a kind heart you will always be fine

Because I am sure my roots, mind, and heart will always be pure and divine.
